What started as a recoding session with friends from High School in 1988 went on to release 4 full albums and 2 EPs. Their CD release in 1997, in which they were joined by Levon Helm, was the beginning of the Black Potatoe Music Festival, which continues to this day celebrating it's 22nd Anniversary in July 2018.
From it's beginning in 2002, with a recording with Levon for the Jersey Jams, Jersey Cares CD to benefit the victims of 911, it continues today headlining the Annual Black Potatoe Music Festival. 2004's release "Political Pop" happened the same time that Matt had his run for US Congress in New Jersey's district 7. Future releases will include a live recording with Bernie Worrell, Bernard Purdie and Garth Hudson, a 10 song studio recording with Pinetop Perkins, a 4 song EP with Honeyboy Edwards, and a 11 track gospel recording with Anthony Morgan's inspirational Choir of Harlem.

Released in 2000 this was a leaner much more productive Angus, as well as their last release. It featured Kim Williams, John Davies, Jaime Coan, John Ginty, Anthony Krizan, Neal Casal and Levon Helm. With John Ginty producing and it marked the first project in which Scott Hull was the mastering engineer, and John Holbrook (Natalie Merchant/Brian Setzer) mixed a couple tracks as well.
